The Science of Rejuvenation- Rasayana
The science of Rejuvenation, Rasayana is very ancient. It is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda. In fact, ever since Ayurveda came into being over 5,000 years ago, it has been credited with improving our body’s resistance to illnesses and also slowing down the ageing process. Therefore, the herbs, plants and fruits referred to as the ‘Rasayanas’ that are used for Ayurvedic therapies and treatments, contains antioxidants that can help protect the body against the ravages of time, improve overall immunity and thus reduce the ageing process. Rasayanas also provides nourishment to the growth and functioning of all our seven dhatus or tissues.
Ojas- The understated quintessence of life
When we talk about rejuvenation, Ojas plays a very important role. This is considered to be the eighth tissue, which is the very quintessence of all body tissues or the main energy reserve in the body. This is a resultant of our nutritional intake, food and digestive capabilities. The energy, vigor and vitality we feel comes from this.
